1. What is The GEO Award?

The GEO Award is an annual benchmarking event known as the toughest benchmarking test for manufacturing companies throughout Europe. It was initiated in 1992 by A.T. Kearney and the weekly business magazine "Produktion" in Germany.
2. Why should I participate?

The winners receive the most prestigious and respected award for leading edge capabilities in manufacturing and supply chain management. All participants will receive an individual feedback report, showing their position relative to their peers.
3. How much will it cost to participate?

Participation is free of charge.
4. How can I receive an electronic version of the questionnaire?

You can download an electronic version of the questionnaire here. Optionally, you can also fill out our contact form to receive the questionnaire by e-mail.
5. Will my data be treated confidentially?

All data in the questionnaire will be treated as strictly confidential and will only be accessible to the members of the "Factory of the Year/GEO" team. Results will only be published in the form of sanitized, statistical averages and/or trend curves.
6. Will my participation in the competition be announced publicly?

Participants' names will only be published in the event that they receive an award.
7. How much time does it take to fill out the questionnaire?

5 to 10 man-days, according to participants.
8. How long will it take for the on-site visits?

On-site visits generally take one or two days. The management team of the participating factory or participating business unit should be available during this timeframe for interviews.
9. On which level should the filling out of the questionnaire be coordinated?

As several persons generally fill the questionnaire out, a mentor should be appointed in top management who supports the overall process and coordinates within the factory and/or within the designated business unit.
10. Do all questions always have to be answered?

The questionnaire should be applicable for very different industries, however, the case may be that certain questions cannot be answered meaningfully for your factory or business unit. In such cases, please enter "n/a", "not applicable" and briefly state why the question cannot be answered. If there is relevant information on the other page that you would additionally like to provide us with, please do so by all means in an enclosure.
11. How can I receive support when filling in the questionaire?

When filling in the questionaire, you are of course supported. A.T. Kearney has established a dedicated telephone hotline which you can use in case of questions throughout the entire process:
